TCR UK’s GSE Apprenticeship programme will be for a 3-year duration and will include on the job training. At the end of this Apprenticeship programme successful students will be in a position to apply for qualified GSE Technician positions within the organisation.
You would be working for THE world leader in Ground Support Equipment (GSE) for airports with over 230+ employees covering London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Stansted, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
You will be working alongside and learning from some of the best in the business with many years’ experience, whom you can learn from. Our prestigious Workshop in Heathrow is world class with Head Office Support on hand to unlock your potential.
You will receive a comprehensive Training plan for a smooth transition into the role with on-going support, Tools, Equipment and Uniform etc. Expect to be busy! There is a wide variety of vehicles we own and service that you can get practical hands on experience with. Not to mention your assigned mentor buddying you every step of the way.
You will learn how to service and repair equipment such as portable stairs, fuel and food trucks, towing tractors, aircraft tugs, manlifts, APU’s and Company vehicles etc.
The Apprenticeship Programme we offer:
Depending on your chosen course you will attain an accredited qualification of NVQ Level 2 and/ or 3. it will take between 2-3 years to complete with a mixture of classroom / On-The-Job Learning, Written and Observation based Assessments.

I have been an Apprentice GSE Technician at TCR since 2016 and would recommend anyone looking into a mechanical engineering Apprenticeship to see what TCR have to offer. So far I am on track to finish my Level 3 by the end of 2019. The mix of classroom and workshop practical experience is a good balance. You will need to work hard to complete the assessments, but it is satisfying to know how far you have come and get to achieve a qualification at the end of it.
