Job Description

We have an exciting role as a GSE mechanic within our Australian business, available for an enthusiastic and motivated trade qualified mechanic keen to join a supportive and collaborative team on full-time basis.  Our Sydney team comprises 21 talented full-time staff (and growing).  The team have developed a healthy and vibrant working environment with daily operations running with clear and effective systems, procedures, equipment and people with an overarching commitment to safety through Zero Harm principles. 

The mechanics position involves utilizing your technical skills and experience as a tradesman to repair and maintain ground support equipment. You will reports daily to the Shift Supervisor however will ultimately be under the management of the State Service Manager. Your role involves following service guidelines and data as well as repair and maintenance tasks that reflect a trade standard. The variety of equipment and the unique nature of aviation equipment means there is an opportunity to bring a wide collection of knowledge, skills and contacts to the role.

SIGN ON BONUS up to $3000 (guaranteed $1000: if you have up to 2 years airport GSE experience $2000, if you have over 2 years airport GSE experience $3000)

Position Requirements:

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate
  • Must have own tools
  • Must hold a current driver’s license
  • Experience in diesel engines, hydraulic systems and electrical fault finding preferred
  • Willingness to undertake ASIC background checks for security access
  • Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical check
  • Due to Public Health (COVID-19 Air Transportation Quarantine) Order (No 3) 2021 – anyone applying for this position requires a double COVID 19 vaccination status with proof of vaccination.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base hourly rate $38-$45/hr commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Uniforms supplied and laundered
  • 2 additional leave days from work, over and above your annual leave
  • 10.5 % Superannuation
  • Overtime Penalties
